These gonna be my happiest birthday gift ever, to see the announcement and I got wonderful admission letters. And to celebrate my Birthday at the last 6 April and to celebrate this Kartini day, I would like to share with you how many times I failed and got up from the anxiety and uncertainty. Actually, I have written these ones from my previous posts, which you can read this here. Tapi yah biar sip kita ulang intinya aja ya.

And the thing to underline is, I don't wanna be someone that will spend the entire life pursuing this dream and learn IELTS for the rest of my life, rather than I wanna quickly erase and jump to another bucket list. But well, ALL NEED PROCESS. Again, don't ever be someone that really selfish to yourself. Everything has its own process, and if you want to value up yourself more, you need to experience all the processes.

Once, just stick on the head, every one process is different, we have our own pace. And it doesn't mean if I continue this dream I can't achieve another dream, I will, and don't worry they will be achieved. sometimes, what can we do, we just need to put off some times while we are achieving others, and they will be okay. 

Some people said If you wanna gain one thing just prepare to lose another thing. Yeap, ketika ak compare dengan kondisi yang aku alami sekarang, indeed, it's true, I need to let go of one thing that I still can compromise for than allowing everythings gone. Exact example, aku harus kehilangan beberapa waktu yang ak targetkan I will finish in my 26 years old, but due to covid, I just plan to start over now. Another example, I didn't find the right one even turning to my potential age, I haven't find my other half yet, I have said to myself I have been ready for that but if god's planning showed a beautiful journey like this, I thank enough. Bahkan, saya jadi paham, it's time for me to contemplate, to be wiser, to focus on career more, to be complete to ourselves, to deepen what exactly I am figuring out. To know which one is really supporting me, or which one is only saying by the words without actions. Instead of those, it's just a matter of time, until I realize what God's plan is amazingly beautiful. Just do what makes you happy and listen to your heart.

pernah satu post waktu saya baca, kadang saya bahkan ketawa sendiri, kenapa bisa saya nulis begitu 😂 saya pernah bilang kalo "gagal satu gapapa, gagal dua gapapa, gagal terus sampai sukses" kenapa dulu aku mau gagal berkali kali ya 😂😂 what I learned from this is..

Let's get back to the past.

jadi ceritanya saya coba fokuskan cari beasiswa tahun 2019 dan persiapan IELTS sebenernya mulai dari  tahun 2017 sewaktu kuliah, emang rencana ingin kerja dulu selama 2 tahun atau 3 tahun sebelum mengambil Master degree. 

Long short story. aku coba LPDP pertama kali, dulu tujuannya di wageningen, jangan tanya kenapa, coba baca LPDP 2018 pernah saya tulis disini intinya, kerja nya di pelabuhan, sabtu minggu sibuk proyekan, mau kuliah ambil jurusan sustainable energy efficiency and planning, gimana coba HAHA

jadi setelah tes selama 3 kali, dengan hasil lolos di tes administrasi, seleksi berbasis komputer, dan FGD, tes wawancara pun dilanjut dan benar saya tidak lolos. 😁 jadilah seketika saya memutar otak, pokoknya gimana caranya 2019 ini  I NEED TO FOCUS ON THIS and get this one.. (disclaimer dlu, sebenernya gaperlu juga sih ampe resign haha yang penting niat dan fokus aja)

 

Gaining a high score by self-studying is not so scary as you thought. The key is only consistency. it's easy to talk, but difficult to do, this is TRUE 😂

Bicara tentang IELTS, I've been trying 2 times and never get a score that I really want. Disini akan saya bahas satu persatu tahapan dan bagaimana cara belajar IELTS yang 'tepat' for me 😆

Test 1; skor 6 dengan skor tertinggi reading 7, dan terendah listening 5

Test 2; skor 5,5 dengan skor tertinggi reading 6,5,  dan terendah listening 5,5

Test 3; skor 7 dengan skor tertinggi listening 7,5, dan terendah reading 6, dunno why T,T

maybe karena ak fokus ke listening jadi reading tertinggal

untungnya, di setiap sesi ini saya sudah nyobain tiga tipe metode belajar pada setiap test dengan pendekatan yang berbeda. Dari private, sampai fokus belajar di English course pernah dicoba. Namun saya sadar dari beberapa metode tersebut I haven't define what a proper method should I take to deepen my learning. Metode pertama, sudah lama saya mengenal IELTS 2 tahun lalu, sebelum lulus, saya les private kebetulan disitu lucky banget dapat free karena IP. Sudahlah saya intensif selama 3 bulan dengan jangka 1 minggu dua kali kursus. And in the end of the day, saya belum yakin saya siap tes haha, sampai saya lulus dan bekerja, ditambah bekerja proyek yg notabene sabtu minggu saya full dengan kerjaan, membuat saya lalai dan tidak fokus. setelah setahun lamanya dan gegara deadline😂 I decided to take a test. And you guessed the result, I've mentioned. I failed. 

*Notes to learn, don't ever take the test only for gaining your specious score but rather than you want to level up your English and get used to with that.

Metode ke 2, disaat karir saya memuncak, disaat sudah 2 tahun pegawai dan dinobatkan tetap baru 3 bulan, lanjut promosi oleh dirut, bayangin ya setiap sesi saya rapat dengan dirut dan di promosi begitu cepat, I just made a huge mistake, or now never be a mistake, call it a chance, a jouney. I resigned. HAHAHA i don't know what my thoughts it was, but I really sure and convinced at that day, this is the huge decision I've done ever in this early year in January. I resigned because of the deadline of STUNED is so near in march, and I felt I haven't ready enough to take IELTS test, if I still didn't focus till now. So when? Then, I was planning to Pare for 1 month to prepare. senekat itu, entah kenapa tidak menyangka, dan you know what my boss told me when I have permitted to him. Bos, saya mau resigned boleh ga.. mau kemana.. sekolah, pursue my dream.. wanna focus.. se jujur itu hamba 😂😂 and he said. Go on.. Go ahead.. kalo sekolah saya gamau stop kamu, I know you will have a great step ahead, and I think it's not here. :"))) seketika itu saya meleleh. wakaka

ups malah menjauh dari topik, lanjut..

Next, saya baru masuk kursus periode tanggal 25 Januari 2019 intensive IELTS di TEST english school. ternyata kelas di mulai tanggal 10. hmm kalo saya ambil tanggal 10 saya nganggur dong, dan saya sudah bawa barang sekoper haha, so I join in the mid term of 10th class on 25th of January, dan saya rekomendasi buat kesini kalo temen-temen mau survive dan belajar tekun, dan belajar tanpa henti tanpa istirahat. 😀 ternyata karena deadline yg ketat banget baru 2 minggu belajar di pare kemudian saya ambil test di jogja HAHA sungguh pengorbanan. Then what guys you can guess, yes, again, I failed. Sudahlah, I never expect that I can overcome this situation 

What I want to highlight here, it's not how long we learned any preparations, more than How you ready for taking the next exam?

saya rasa, disana saya belajar lebih membumi karena camp yang bercampur baur, 4 orang dan pembelajaran yg kurang efektif di outdoor dengan banyak bising kendaraan lewat, plus ditambah banyak nya siswa yang join selama kelas. Ah satu lagi, jadwal yang super super ketat dan sangat padat, kelas dimulai dari 05.30-07.00 mulai lagi jam 09.00-10.30 mulai lagi jam 13.00-14.30 lanjut lagi sore 15.30-17.00 dan malamnya audiovisual, yang which is it made me bored, and I don't know the advantages of these, except ramai, panas, dan kurang jelas, so, saya sering bolos di malam hari, because I thought if I studied hard in night by my self I can add more time to enhance the score. HEHE jangan ditiru.

Disinilah saya mulai menemukan kenyamanan dalam belajar, saya belajar sendiri lebih fleksibel dengan waktu, saya sadar, that my second score, is really describing me so much in a hurry thing. Describing if a good score will never take in short period in spite of you have been ready enough to face. Bulan Juli saya belajar sendiri, I start to figure out what my sessions I less to. So they were Listening and Writing. Kenapa belajar sendiri? yang pertama, di website banyaaaak, banyak banget modulnya, dan ada buku juga yang membantu improving my score. Terus, saya rasa metode ini pas, karena saya tidak terpaku dengan orang lain, But once, it depends on every individual ya.

Saya akan share bagaimana cara belajar saya selama 4 bulan ini by self-studying and fun learning.

Surround your self with the people who improve your capability even in how to pronounce. 

That's gonna be useful for speaking. Since I've  been working in Australia company, both of employees and clients come from various countries, I felt grateful to meet a lot of foreigners to practice my language.

Practice! Practice! Practice! In that three months, don't let your mouth dry never speak in english, even only your partner is a mirror 😂 It made your tongue fluently more and practice a lot at least one day one topic I tried to speak daily, in early morning before working one topic, and in a night to speak 2 minutes like task 2 in exam.

Sepertinya ini sepele, tapi nyatanya dengan perasaan seneng apalagi berbunga-bunga 😂 it will make you better to absorb and understand all the materials. try to feel like you are very excited to face your exam and curious to study English. It improves you a lot and sometimes you didn't expect it.

However, somehow if the situation and the exam day's going is close, feeling anxiety and a bit fear sometimes appear. I have the tips here, if you're a big fan of doing meditation and yoga, try this! before you start to study. And if maybe tomorrow is the day you face an exam, just close your eyes in a minute, maybe 6 breathing, and hold it slowly, until your body's going to be warm, try to speak with english all your feeling and anxiety at that time. try to stimulate under your mindset with positives and never look back of what you did in a past, just use it as a lesson, and now, raise your head and be ready for your future, you are a brave person which have many plans to go. It really helps you a lot.

Analyze your skills which one you dominate and lack of. Try to focus on what you think you're not in control with and then what you can do? be a master. Remember, IELTS is only an exam, all have the tricks and patterns, if you practice a lot, you'll be easy to transfer.

Setiap individu memiliki kemampuan masing-masing, ada yang jago di speaking, ataupun listening, tapi semakin lama practice akan lebih sadar kemampuan kita lebih menonjol dimana, dan kurang dimana.

Menurut aku nih:

At least 3 months you have prepared your exam, but if your skill at the first trial reach 7 why not doing a test 😂 sing penting kan yakin,

Usahakan at the first time you take ielts it is your best preparation as you do, you have master in 3 task of speaking and all topics you understood. You also have been being great at listening until trials you got 7 at least. You have known all the strategic to write a good sentence, in a good passage, you have known all the tactics you did when doing reading, even in true, false, not given.

That's mean you do a test, go forward! don't stop. Or if you wanna enhance, go for it, reach your target.

Selalu lekatkan di kepala dengan masing-masing target:

Misal nih:

Kalo target listening ku 7,5 maka aku maksimal salah gaboleh lebih dari 8

Kalo reading targetku 8 maka maksimal salah ga boleh lebih dari 5

Kalo writing ku target 7 maka aku harus pake beberapa kata yg terstruktur dengan jelas, pake academic writing kaya yang di thesis-thesis gitu, dengan dominasi complex sentence dan beberapa paraphrase, atau juga tambahan beberapa kata-kata sulit.

Oh kalo speakingku target 7 maka aku harus lancar, dan tidak berhenti jika dikasih 2 menit, aku harus pakai beberapa idioms, aku juga pakai beberapa kata yg berbeda dan tidak diulang-ulang.

Mungkin seperti itu gambarannya ya teman-teman..

Learn how the tips from book or youtube or website and practice! don't only learn, practice, use that words often, and stick to your head a lot :)) Learn the tricks and strategic every part of IELTS.

Kalau kalian juga kerja dan belajar IELTS, jangan khawatir, bangunlah pagi-pagi dengan speak only 5 minutes and try 1 part of listening, mungkin 30 menit, cukup, tapi EVERYDAY! tiap hari, at least ada lah walaupun ga sempet pagi2.

Tapi dengan listening dan speaking di awal, malam hari kalian masih punya waktu to develop your skills in writing, dan ini yang aku fokuskan, karena mau enhance sampai 7.

Nah sisa kalo reading merasa uda oke, tinggal memperlancar aja deh.

Kalo masih mau nambah jam 10 bisa ditambah satu latihan listening lagi, begitu, dan dilihat poinnya apa sudah mencapai target..

To be a master in language you have to be used to do it, so in daily life, try to involve English in every part of your life.

Misal, mau nulis blog, kaya hamba sekarang nih, jangan dikira niru orang jaksel ya 😂 ini mah karena latihan aja biar kebiasa. Sebenernya ini poin plus juga buat ningkatin writing skills, kalo kalian mungkin belajar selama 3 bulan, mungkin per minggu bisa kalian buat agenda nulis blog pake english, i think it helps you much.

Lanjut, ada yang suka nonton TedX? aku sih suka tapi kadang kalo ngikutin seminarnya terlalu lama, kadang kalo kerja yang lain dengerin musik, aku dengerin Ted-X haha biar apa? biar nglatih kuping, buat belajar paham dengan apa yang mereka sampaikan, kan besok juga waktu kuliah kaya begitu kalo kasih pelajaran. Nah, tapi kalo aku juga ga suka kalo kelamaan kaya seminar gitu.

Lanjut, suka baca buku? ganti buku buku yang biasa beli di gramed dengan beli di periplus haha promosi, atau beli ebook biar kalo nganggur bisa baca pake hp. menyenangkan kok, sumpah!
